Pictures from the Burma democracy uprising. Music from Kate Rusby who, as ever, seems to have a song that is apt. For the Burmese refugees and brave displaced souls. This is of course only one of several excellent tracks on Awkward Annie - go out and buy!

  • I saw Adam & the Ants the 1st time around, they certainly were a different act to what else was around. Seems as though you really enjoy your concerts.

  • @Teddyb1939

I had a backstage pass for an Adam and the Ants Gig in Sheffield and we went back to Their hotel after the gig.

Adam bought me 2 beers and we had a great chat. The hotel must have been in Dronfield.

The band I was a member of were backing Dave Berry at the time. Adam invited Dave for a guest appearance on his tour because Sid Vicious had recorded a song called "Don1t give me no lip child! a B side on one of his singles.

We did the Leicester Square Empire Ball room.

  • @306bad You sure have seen some magic sounding Gigs, Bonamassa is awesome, my son saw him in the States recently, He also had tickets for Bon Jovi [backstage as well] Glad to see you have found Kate Rusby. This particular song is so beautiful, the arrangement & the timbre of Kates voice are wonderful. Banjo & when the Cello comes in, Hard not to go over the top, Ian Anderson has always been a unique act.

In the last eighteen months I have been to see Paul Carrack 3 times, Joe Bonamassa, Ian Anderson, and Paul Rodgers with friends All great gigs. Channel hoping i caught a few bars of a Kate Rusby song.

Friday night checking all her material.

I bought the Live in Leeds DVD which is brilliant and I went to see her in Halifax 14 May 2011 which was a joy. She came on stage twice drinking a cup of tea, rock and role.I now have the "Make the light " album, yes I am a fan. (new)

  • I think my heart has just melted.

  • @roystodj01 Hi thanks for the info on Kate & everyone is going to have differing opinions But I will say after great deliberation this lovely song should br heard by everyone & is my favourite song of Kates, The Cello has just come in as I am writing this. Pure Magic. Sorry if I am a bore but had to share with someone.!!!

  • @Teddyb1939 She is even better in concert but it was a shame because when i went to see her there was know flute and i thing that makes it so much better. Not in this song obviosly but in songs like old man time.

  • The banjo with Kate improves the recording, gives it a bit of variation. I love Kate but sin of all sins,I wonder if I could sit through through a whole concert!!!.

  • kateeeee :D
