Soap - Police Interview Pt. 1

Part 1 of 2 from my favourite scene from my favourite show, Soap! It's an old 70s show (so some jokes are a little old, so watch out)

Basically, Bert's son, Peter, has been murdered (dun dun duunnn) and Tinkler comes round to question everybody.

Note:
- Peter isn't Danny and Jodie's brother (only Chuck's... and, I suppose, Bob's). He isn't Mary's son.
- The woman in purple (they've literally just left the funeral) is Corinne. She lived with Peter, dating him, and found out he's been sleeping with anything that moves (including her mother, Jessica - and, in their defence, neither of them knew that Peter was a relation, because Bert only just found him (another long story) -) and so she's not too sad about his death.
- Watch out for the homophobia and racist jokes (like I said: old show). If anyone is offended: lighten up.
- And Chester generally doesn't care.

I think Danny should've been a bigger suspect in the "Who killed Peter Campbell?" storyline. My reason: He was running from the mob because he couldn't go through with killing Burt, under their orders. Maybe he decided to kill Burt's son, instead, thinking the mob would let him off the hook.

@dubs19842009 No mob would ever accept that. Peter had nothing to do with it and (I presume) these mobsters follow the rules of 'never go after family members'. Though... Danny is stupid enough to think it could work, on the other hand it looked like he would only kill when really angry (like for revenge) so he probably wouldn't have managed. Good theory - would have been a really decent red herring... then it could easily be argued 'why not kill Chuck?' you'd have a murderous Bob around...eep.

@GoldenGal42 Well, Chuck was in his house, he couldn't commit a murder right under his mother's nose. Plus Jodie was a bigger suspect in the murder than Danny, especially after he stuffed Bob in the fridge.

@dubs19842009 Good point, plus Peter did kind of have it coming. I didn't ever really feel Jodie was a proper suspect, he never shared a single scene with Peter so if it had turned out to be him it would have been a bit of a stretch.

@GoldenGal42 Last theory on Danny: Peter was stabbed, shot, strangled, suffocated, and bludgeoned. Danny attempted all those things on Burt.

I have the complete DVD- box set, rewatch all the seasons at least once a year and always get sucked into it like watching i for the first time. One of the most brilliant shows of all time. Susan Harris (also the person behind my other all time favourite, The Golden Girls).
