  • I remember this really well, I was in school when it happened, I was 12 years old at the time, but NASA shouldn't have launched the shuttle on that cold January day, if they hadn't launched then, the astronauts would still be with us today, was a very tragic disaster.

  • @Willysmb44 I feel the same way. I was a six year old boy when I first read about it in the papers and I couldnt believe it.

  • Around 5:40, the narrator starts talking, CNN missed the "go for throttle up" call that people now associate with the disaster. I didn't see it as it happened that day, I heard about then turned the TV on. Even after all these years, I still can't believe this happened...

  • LOL at 1:16.

    You got that right.

  • OMG CNN is covering the shit out of this. Why isn't MSNBC???????

  • @RedSoxMimi The booster that was leaking from the failed joint actually sheared away at the bottom joint and pivoted so the nose whacked the the fuel tank which contributed to the tank break-up.. I believe it was the impact that caused the nose cap to come, off releasing the drogue.

  • @airdaleva42 The parachute was the right solid rocket booster drogue chute. It opened when the the nose cap of the booster was sheared off by aerodynamic forces.

  • thanx to posting god bless you and rip for the victims and relatives

  • 12:27 "three engines now at one hundred and four percent" and then the explosion occurs
