I think Farley's hosting gig on SNL was the beginning of the end. He knew he had embarrassed himself and after that, he just gave up.

I remember seeing Chris on a late night tv show, being interviewed by I think it was Jay Leno, and Chris was acting more manic than anybody else I'd ever seen in my entire life. I expected to turn on my computer one morning soon after, and seeing the announcement saying Chris was dead from a heart attack. But things didn't happen that way.
