Some late season fly fishing on the east carson river. A good time by all... Lots of other anglers waving sticks too! A truly beautiful day.

  • There are two sections of the East Carson that are currently of focus... one is a wild trout preserve and the other is an area that is attempting to introduce a california native cutthroat trout that is in danger. It is becoming more rare in California to find fish in a river or stream that are natural species and wild- that is they were spawned there. It is common to find rivers that are stocked with farm raised hatchery fish- often species not natural to the river.

  • The water is so clean... and this all so seems so pristine. I'm a vegetarian and would NEVER eat fish, but I would lover to go there and sit and thnk...:-) Beautiful video. Thanks!

  • My wife (in the viedo) is a vegetarian too. We believe in "catch and release" fishing.

  • Where else in California can you rent a cabin, practically ON the river, and walk a few short steps to some world class trout fishing? Keep this spot quite though... I've had some epic days in the fall fishing the East Carson.

  • The East Carson is near the top of my favorite places to fish. I look forward to spending more time there, especially when there's a chance to catch a Lahontan Cutthroat. Also, thanks for subscribing to our VirtualFlyGuides channel. We have a lot of fun fly fishing and want to share it with others. Keep up the good work promoting responsible fly fishing and catch and release.

  • I'm so glad to hear that. Is East Carson under threat? I would be a real tragedy for such a wonderful place to be lost! I'm in England, so I don't know the details. What a wonderful place. It Makes me miss America!
