In it, Jeremy Paxman asks Paul McMullan, Deputy Features editor at the News of the World 1994-2001, what he thinks about the allegations that voicemails on murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler's mobile phone were allegedly intercepted by the newspaper.

The former NoW reporter says on phone hacking that quote 'it's not a big deal.'

Broadcast on Tuesday 5 July 2011.

  • I wouldn't know HOW to hack into a phone let alone feel JUSTIFIED TO DO IT! Husband's affairs or worries for offspring would not tempt me. Paul McCullan would defend child rape if it was in his best interest. He is a phenomenal wanker.

  • The rather sinister looking markings below McMullen's left eye. Is infact markings from the number of times Murdoch has cock slapped him!!

  • Christ, everybody gave McMullan a kicking. Malcolm Tucker, Alan Partridge, he had it from all sides.

  • Campbell and McMullan together - it's like a kind of grotesque carnival of the wicked on Newsnight!

  • if what they were doing was IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST, why did they then charge us 70p to £1.00 to be able to read about it.

One slight step up from micro-bacterial pond life

  • God this man would defend a Paedophile if he had to! I hate journalists like him in this country, just because a person is famous, how are they entitled to no privacy!? Fair enough they need the press at certain times, like promoting a film, but where on earth do you draw the line? Will it then be okay to put surveillance cameras in their bedrooms or bathrooms. They lack any moral compass and it makes me ashamed to live in a country that has this sort of press!

  • McMullans no longer the cocky arrogant twat when he's being interviewed by Paxman as he scared of him.

  • @AgentMcQueen One sleazy morally bankrupt assrat

  • He's not irritating, he's amusing...

  • 5:54 what a ridiculous little man - 10% of the population have hacked a phone - the excuses that pond life make for their own inequities are dreadful...

  • Alistair Campbell Vs Paul McMullan. Haha. As much as McMullan may be full of shit he's got less blood on his hands than that lying war criminal Campbell.

Note how considerate Campbell is about McMullan and Rebecca Brooks. He was their best friend when they were lying for him and drinking at the same parties.
