I found the only time I really needed live frogs was with a couple of those Bachmann "Tracksters" (you know, the HiRail vehicles like trucks and vans). Those have pickup and return on one axle only, and if the frog's insulated, it just ain't goin' through.

@southern4501isawesom lol.. I prefer steam power myself, but I don't really have room for the steamers (I'm into HOn3 insted of HO) so I just use Gas-electrics or Diesels.. I am actually scratch building a lil 0-4-0 Porter in HOn3 so I can have a little steam power.

I agree that powered frogs are a must. I just did a shinohara 3-way switch, tricky. Hey, I had a historical question: The PM gondolas. I have searched the internet for a photo of a real one of these and have found none. Do you have a reference to the use of these after the end of PM (1947ish). I wonder if C&O repainted them or MIGN inherted some. If you have any thoughts it would be appriciated.
thanks

I'm sorry, I have no historical source for pictures. I think those gons are still a long time in service, at least in scrap service. Perhaps they were restenciled for a new owner.
