I'm sorry but I really just use chords and 0% sheet music :P I had to learn the melody by ear though. I guess what you mean by "not like chords" is my arrangement of the song... basically the quiet parts are done by me playing the notes of the chord individually (I break them down). I don't play all the notes together. Then you could just experiment on the order of how you play those notes. It takes a lot of playing and enjoying to develop your own style :) Have fun :)

what key did you play this in?

I know the original is in E, but the version I play sounds different. (Probably the Kord vs. Yamaha deal)

I play in key of E, so it's supposed to be the same in terms of the key :) Perhaps the "sounding different" is not in the key... maybe it's in the style or the instrument :O
