FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Adrian Gonzalez, with his surgically repaired right shoulder, isn't cleared to hit yet but he did take full infield on Sunday with slugger David Ortiz alternating reps with him.

At one point, Ortiz scooped up a grounder cleanly and Gonzalez - a Gold Glove winner himself - chirped, "If they hand out a Gold Glove at DH, Papi will win it."

Gonzalez is expected to head to Port St. Lucie this week to have his right shoulder examined by Dr. David Altchek. If Gonzalez passes, he will begin hitting later in the week or next week, about a week ahead of schedule.
