People didn't realize that Otis could sing all the notes when required and could harmonize and fill in anywhere except for bass. I've always had the hardest time finding David in the background harmony, but he always had that operatic range that many people didn't know about, so i suspect he was up there just floating on top, probably next to Eddie. Everybody could find their notes or keys from Eddie and Paul, especially Eddie...his falsetto/tenor was so distinctive and pure....Tempts 4ever.!

Could have been a single. Smokey did good on the production.

HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY MR. OTIS WILLIAMS!!
-
Otis has a very classic voice.
-
yes singing a lot of 1st tenor parts it was Otis and remember no Otis no temptations
-
All Otis Williams needed was a little vocal training to be a lead singer, and he would've be more than just the "last surviving original member of the Temptations."
-
David Ruffin sang the high notes (first tenor) when Eddie sang lead.
-
who do u think sang the high notes when eddie was leading, it was otis with that silky voice.

co-written by Eddie Kendricks.
