My tears are flowing like waterfalls right now. My son is a Seabee and will deploy in 3 weeks to Afghanistan. I am so PROUD of my sailor and proud to be a Military Mom (Navy Momma)!

My mom hates the army. She insults me saying that if I join I will be the laughing stock in the family. She says the army is for people with not future. She tries to compare me to other students around me, saying why can't I be like them. She says to get out of the house if I enlist.
I keep my head up and surpress my tears. This is all I wanted to do since a child, not be a doctor nor a lawyer. To be a soldier is my dream, and to not follow that dream would make my life meaningless.
