The second layer just below the top layer is a shock absorbant padding about 2 to 4 inches thick. When falling, this layer takes out the "hard hit" so you don't hurt yourself. Also, you are presumed moving downward, so the impact is also dispursed. I've seen some hard falls at this slope and the riders got up, shook it off, and headed back the to lifts. Thats not to say if you fall really the "wrong" way, you still could get hurt, but thats more to do with how YOU are landing on anything.....

Actually more technical to ride... if you master Snowflex, when you get into the real snow, its a much easier ride and your tricks will be a hell of a lot better. Ridin every week on Flex only improves the real snow experience.. no one ever said its just like real snow, cause its not.. but it is the most technical, high performance alt out there to ride when there is no real stuff.....
