When Brandon started at North high school, he became engrossed in the party life and drug scene -- he was jumped into a gang as a result. He was failing high school and getting into fights. As part of an intervention strategy, he met a Goodwill facilitator and that is where his life took a turn. Soon Brandon became more connected to school and Goodwill programs -- all have helped him leave gang life, develop leadership skills and become more of a support to his peers, mother and little sister. He's looking forward to being a first-generation college student at University of New Mexico to pursue his dream to become a restaurant owner.
