turns out its the lifters, these cars are notorious for their "lifter tick"

I'm going to try out different oil weights to get rid of it because the sound came when i changed oil.
Other than that you have to get all new lifters

    Somehow ALL six of my plugs were loose.

    I only wish you had made this comment a day earlier, i just wasted $40 on engine flush and new oil lol.

    I'm sooooo happy to have this noise gone tho :D

  • That would be your vanos. look into a Dr. Vanos kit, I have found Bimmerforums to be a help with this kind of stuff.

  • @stradguy93 good call, i ordered tools from dr.vanos and parts to rebuild the vanos myself from beisan systems. runs great now
