A short video demonstrating one of the purposes of the practice of Tai Chi is to unite or mold the entire back into one large unit. This is how the power that Tai Chi is known for is generated.

  • @MrRalteria true, but try to apply dynamicly tucking in the tailbone, then it is somthing the whole body has to relate to continiously and never "sit"(staicly sit) on. When payed attention to, all aspects and all situations can be related to without problems.

It is when mind uses body without paying proper attention to diff. situations, that problems occur.

(I know my "link" is to a muay thai site, but give it a go, it is all part of the bigger picture it has to be obeserved in anyway)

  • Great vid man, keep that stuff comming. Happy to see some westerners getting it!

Uprightness is dynamic, never static, it is a movement never to dwell/sleep on beeing.

Actually it is when we sepparate into 600 something muscles, that we create disharmonie. In reality it is all part of one unity, a separate part of the body should never be ignored, all parts allways support and move/work as a part of the bigger picture.

May peace be with all to move energy ++

  • @chuck123456789000000 on the side of each vertebra, there exist a joint, that lift the vertebra in animals, who move anatomically sensible and efficient. Wushu/martial arts is based on natures creatures efficient movements.

The lift works by levitating the front of the disk when muscles pull on the rearside, the tap of the disk, unifying and centering the beeing so. Pulling from both sides so to stabilise and steer the body(from the back), like Li comes from the back, the classics say.

  • ok ... you're not proving anything, just repeating yourself.

  • That's an extreme case of tail bone tucking. It should just be kept neutral or you are going to have back problems from the weight being carried in the lower region of the back. If your hips are open and the tendons/muscles in good order in the region of the inguinal crease, than tucking makes you lose force. The weight should transfer to the legs easily.

  • Ouch, can anyone say "disc herniation?" I sure wouldn't want to lift any weight with a tucked pelvis.
