The distortion is at the initial attack high level, not on the decay.
Also changing the transistors appeared to make no difference !

I am an electrical engineer and just finished studying up on crossover distortion. The narration by the technician in this video is superior. His carefully chosen words gives the student/listener a very accurate accounting of what crossover distorion is, in addition to what can cause it. Excellent video!!!
