99% of nintendo : YAY COLORS EVERYWHERE IT'S PARTY TIME

STILL one of the greatest game ever. <3

@Megamiga96 - That's what made it a perfect environment... The "weirdness" of it created an alien experience. Everything was mysterious and unanswered. The canny way this game was able to maintain it's unexplained variables is what made this game one of the best games ever made. That's one reason games today constantly fail: everything is always explained. Nothing left to the imagination. SM was mysterious in its characters, environs... Even music.
It's a priceless artifact.

They should add this song in the next metroid game (if they make one)

They don't make soundtracks like these anymore. This one plays directly into your soul. It's been at least 12 years since I played this game but when I close my eyes and listen to the soundtrack, I feel like I can see Criteria, Brinstar, Norfair (and oh the heat), Maridia, and Wrecked ship! What a game!

Zebes was a weird planet. Wasteland on the surface, dense jungle just below the surface, vast underground lakes below that, then ancient ruins buried in lava, then a high tech-centre at the core.

Ah, this song. The song represents my peril at all those wall jumps when I try to sequence break to get the power bombs early. Worse than a Mario Party minigame.

best music ever, best game ever made.

Dropping to the level below, excited, wondering what place, creatures, landscape will emerge one screen below you.. A mysterious feeling of exploration, mostly thanks to this music

Yes, Yes, yes, this is the SONG that SUCKED you in, you did not need 3-D just this bad ass song! Gosh damn the determination, and chill that goes through your spine and mind while listening to this song, also was my song i listened to when i got stuck and couldnt figure out where to go, no strategy guide for my 12yr old self ,no sir!
This song still sends chills down my spine like it did back in 1996. When I used to play this I always thought thought it was rather strange how Brinstar can go from being bright, green full of life with cool funky music, to red depressing music by going though one door lol

Super Metroid had the best damn music. And Underground Depths was my absolute favorite.
