Lily Tomlin appears on Night After Night to pitch her new movie, "The Search For Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe."
But instead of appearing as herself, she is interviewed as "Kate", a wealthy Manhattan socialite who bankrolled the movie and only has a passing acquaintance with Lily Tomlin. Further, it appears she doesn't even like Lily that much. Alan does a great job playing along, acting at times as if he's genuinely disgusted with Kate. This is brilliant television.
Unfortunately, this is only the second half of the interview and because of Youtube's 11 minute limit, I had to fade out before Alan's outro to the commercial.
Money line: "But I do admire Mr. Allen. He's intellectually superior to Ms. Tomlin."

Ohhhh my GOD that was GOLD! I love when she gives interviews in-character and totally throws off the audience and even the interviewer. I would love to see the other part of it if you've got it...
