In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Borden's Magic French Fudge. Bordens came out with this recipe at least 20 years ago, and I have made it quite often. It is the *easiest,* *quickest,* and *most delicious* fudge that I have found. I thought you might enjoy great fudge, without the hassle of beating it!

Ingredients:

12 oz. package semisweet chocolate chips
14 oz. can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
dash of salt
½ cup chopped nuts, optional (I used chopped pecans.)

In the top of a double boiler, melt chocolate over hot water. Remove from heat. Add sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, salt, and, if desired, nuts. Stir until smooth. Turn into a waxed paper-lined 8-inch square pan. (I used a 9-inch square pan, sprayed with cooking oil, which worked well.) Chill. Cut into pieces and store in an airtight container. This fudge *never* fails! It is a great fudge to make when you want to make, if you want to make sure you are successful. Everybody loves it! Enjoy!!! Have a happy day! --Betty 

  • just melt together the PB and chocolate first and add the condensed milk last, same process after that. You are so welcome. Love your recipes..

  • @lvick3 Thanks!

  • Betty I have a really similar recipe, if you want to change it up sometime omit the last three ingredients and add 1 12oz jar of PB. Now you'll have PB fudge. I got this out of a newspaper clipping too.My family loves it. I'm definitely trying it your way too. It' looks yummy

  • @lvick3 Your peanut butter fudge sounds wonderful; I will try it that way! Thanks for the great tip!

  • BTY, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your videos!!!!!!!!!!! The recipes are great, the day trips, etc. It is all good. Most of all, I just love your accent. :-) (It's a toss up between you & Paula Deen!) LOL God bless you Betty. Keep up the great videos! :-)

  • Using a microwave, STOPS the fudge from being overheated & burning! You only get it hot enough so that the chips can be smoothly mixed, by stirring them with a big kitchen spoon. Do NOT microwave until they melt. They will actually begin to look wet (like they are sweating,) when they get warm enough to mix. using your microwave makes this fudge so EASY to make!!!! :-)

  • I do a very similar recipe, but in the microwave. :-) Place the chips in a glass mixing bowl, pour the liquids over the chips & stir to coat them all. Microwave for 1 minute, then for 10-15 seconds at a time, stirring between, until the mixture is hot enough to stir to a smooth finish. When smoothly mixed, you can add nuts, if you want them. By experimenting with various types of chips & flavorings, I have come up with some fantastic varieties of fudge! I always give it for Valentine's Day. :-)

  • @XxPuddingFaceXx Thanks for the great feedback! I really appreciate it!
