@elchochito (cont.) to maintain your brew temp, AND to get a headstart on the steam function so you are waiting less time for the steam function to be ready to froth milk. Regardless of whether youre frothing milk however, on a single boiler that isnt PID'd, it is absolutely essential to maintain your brew temp through the pull, especially if you started with a cold machine. This is done by flipping the steamer on DURING the pull. This method doesnt apply to a machine that has been on for awhile.

@elchochito WRONG.Im not sure if I can explain in one paragraph.Aside from grind sensitivity,This is one of the main reasons why people consider the Silvia "finnicky." The problem with a R.Silvia or single boilers in general is that by the time your steam function is ready( if you started w a cold machine) your shot has been sitting for 2-3 minutes. To get around this, you temp surf a couple times(again, only w a cold machine) then about ten seconds into the shot pull, you FLIP ON the steamer

@ProfessorQurkle Professor quirky. I like Naked juice as well, but i'd much rather make my own. Did not mean to offend you with my comment. You really can't call yourself a "professor" if you cannot see the obvious. You will never be able to temp surf if your STEAMER IS ON! Professor, at what temperature does water "boil and vaporize"? 212 degrees! No shit he’s having trouble finding the right temperature, in case u didn’t notice STEAMER IS ON! So, cut the crap and tell the man to turn it off.

@elchochito Elchode-ito, before I rebut, please find your way over to the fridge and try to locate some fresh mango juice.I prefer Naked juice, but a fresh mango will suffice. Hopefully the B-vitamins conjure at least some of your lethargic brain function so youre able to decipher at least some of the following info: My recommendation wasnt in regards to Hesser99's pull from the actual pull video, it was some advice to correct his method as a whole since hes having trouble finding the right temp.

@ProfessorQurkle That will never work professor. He has the steamer turned on!! :-O

Your pull is literally boiling as its coming out of the PF.. You have that shit on WAY too high. If youre PID'd, get it dialed correctly. I temp surf with my R.Silvia. This works for me: if you started w a cold machine, wait until after the 3rd warm-up temp surf, 15 seconds after the display light turns off. If the machine has been hot for awhile,(30 mins or longer) temp surf ONCE, then wait 30 to 40 seconds after the display light goes off to initiate the pull.

This is what espresso brewed at the temperature of 4 suns looks like
