A father holds onto his baby boy for dear life as he is hit by an out-of-control car. Andrew Leitch was out for a walk with his parents and son in the Sydney suburb of Penrith, when an 82-year-old lost control, suffering a heart attack at the wheel.

[Andrew Leitch, Father of Baby]:
"That day is just so easy to remember. After pulling myself out and the little blokie out of the window, looking around at mom and dad, I thought the worst."

The dramatic video was captured from three different angles showing how the father never let go of his baby during the whole incident.

[Andrew Leitch, Father of Baby]:
"I heard a bit of a screech and I actually said to the old man, it's probably just another young puppy doing a burn-out. This is Penrith, and he joked a bit and turned to me and I turned around and she was on top of us."

The driver hit a parked car, went through a red light at an intersection and was traveling at 43 miles an hour when she hit the family members, including a passerby.

Leitch managed to angle his body in the split second of the accident to shield baby Hayden from the full impact of the crash. But he took the full force of the hit, breaking his leg.

[Andrew Leitch, Father of Baby]:
"I can take the hit. That was more or less what I was thinking. You know I can repair, there's no way he is gonna repair. I thought if they hit the back of me, you know, I've got at least a chance of you know, I might break a leg or whatever, that's fixable. But they hit me son he's not fixable."

Leitchs parents also suffered minor injuries, but have recovered.

Leitch looks on the bright side of the incident.

[Andrew Leitch, Father of Baby]:
"At first I was cranky at her, really cranky, but again it's an accident. What do you do? You can't. If I see her on the street, I'd still ask her if she's okay and how things are going. Everyone's human."

Luckily, baby Hayden is too young to remember.

  • This is why most old people shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel. It's not safe, my own grandma shouldn't even be behind the wheel, her driving scares me...I think there should be a age limit where your license should be cut off.

  • made me cry

  • @D8mien1 yeah that's a good point actually

  • @MrGRINandBEARit He's not hard at all to understand. It's most likely for the deaf.

  • @MrGRINandBEARit Friend .. you are. Trust me. For people that don't have English as a native language, it's hard to understand various accents, such as Scottish or Australian. We can understand most of what you say, but subtitles really help.

  • why the hell are there subtitles, we are not THAT hard to understand...

  • @o0OCTO0o dude she dont have that long till she died it cud have been an accident u fukin son of a bitch

  • @GyspyEyes i was only slegging lol

  • @carsieplg Wow man what did I ever do to you? I didn't know people like you still trolled around. You're incorrect age has to do with it, age is what slowly makes your body/ brain incapable of doing simple tasks, like counting money, driving, even simple things like cutting grass. Not all women are bad drivers, I've seen some bad men drivers as well. It doesn't matter what sex they are.

  • @GyspyEyes you women have a cheek to talk women cant drive at all and age has nothing to do with it stick to making coffee

  • @BonsaiBlog Ya I get that at my work to, I don't work at Mc Ds but I work in a coffee shop, some older people come in with canes and walkers. When they order a drink or some food they can't even carry it to a seat, if they can't do a simple task like you said count money, carry things, they shouldn't be driving. Also sometimes I have to count for them because they can't tell the coins apart... it's crazy.
