This is a great review! The only drawback for me is the friction tuners, although I have friction tuners on my Flukes and Fleas and am able to deal with them okay. I was thinking about getting the KS-0, but with the shallower soundbox, might it not sound as full? But it has geared tuners. Hmm.

Those are Gotoh tuners.

I just occasionally review ukes that I like. I'm not a music dealer.
-
hey. Do you still sell ukes?

Thankyou for your review. I bought a KS-1 after watching this and I was not disappointed. They are beautiful, elegant, simple and well crafted musical instruments. Far better made than others at this price point.

Good review! I just got one of these and am amazed by the resonance and punchiness.

Because of you, I now have a KS1 ;o)
Two little questions:
=> What strings do you use ?
=> what is the title of the song that you are playing at the end ?

I'm using Aquilla strings for soprano uke. The tune at the end is an excerpt from "Ain't She Sweet" .
I really like this Kiwaya & wouldn't mind getting a concert or tenor to add to the collection someday.
Thanks for watching!
