weird thing though, the original version has a male vocal and this one has a female voc with phaser effects.

Indeed, I've tried to work out what the vocal in the original is from, but every search turns up nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

It sounds to me like either an alien abduction story, or perhaps a near death experience. Something along those lines.

Maybe even some of the LSD testing from back in the day. I dunno. Love the song.
