One of the great monologues; the 1977 recording of "Miss Sweeny" is definitely non-pareil. It's very rushed in this clip; on the album she takes her time. If you've never heard it then it's worth the effort of obtaining a copy. It has brought me to tears more than once. Alas, I no longer have access to it.

ARGH !!!! she also skips a line, after little cinderella pencil box with it's built it sharpener..."no more tiring trips to the windowsill" ... and then at the end when she's hit by the bus, "oh, her little cinderella pencil box" (i guess you can tell i have a fixation about the pencil box LOL

I have the album too!!! Its called "Lily Tomlin On Stage" In perfect condition. The date on it is 1977. Its really funny!! She does Ludd & Marie...its a riot!!!

i have the original album (I MEAN VINYL!!) of this skit. I almost know it by heart. Wonderful writing by her longtime lover. AFter seeing her tirade on I h Huck, i !!! Eh, i still like her. She was still good in her recent work Lake Wob. There is an HBO series coming soon w/ her. I can't wait!
