  • Great points in this video! I often find that even the words I use when talking to non designers can confuse them. So I try to used words with the design terms to explain them. that way they learn what the design terms mean so if I forget t explain the terms next time they might not feel lost. e.g. this paragraph would look better without the widow and orphan, the lonely word on the last line.

  • @jessjm89 That's a great suggestion - and exactly my point! If we work to break down the barriers that the curse of knowledge causes, we can communicate better with our clients. Thanks for sharing.

  • You make very valid points. Sometimes we designers project our own desires with a project and forget that we are hired to problem-solve. The bottom line is that it is important to develop the skill of listening carefully to your clients.
