Elevator Motor Room - (Ride and Engineering showcase)

Function: Goods & Passenger Elevator

Controller: Otis, Circa 1984-1986, 400v 3 Phase.

Motor: 23Amps, 10.5kW/14HP, 920 RPM High, 210 RPM Low.

Equipment used: Sony DVDHandyCam 653E.


This elevator truly is rough as hell. For starting and stopping it really only has 2 speeds, High and low. The car travels at 0.8m.p.s and 0.2m.p.s respectively.

The controller is made up ENTIRELY of Relays. There is one very basic PCB which indicates what floor the car is on & for faults and that's it!
