Say what you will about KISS but they hit it out of the park with this album. The energy on this thing is simply incredible. A must have album for the collection.

I bought this album with money I made from mowing lawns if costs a whopping 7dollars back in 1975 brand new I wish I could find it on CD

I was a mid-teen when this came out, --the-- market demographic. 'Alive' and Frampton's double live rather suddenly legitimized live albums (vinyl days) in the eyes of business people. With 'Alive' though, notice the very smooth progression from mere full speed on sides one and two to top speed then snakebit rock-frenzy as the album builds to 'Cold Gin'. That upward progression was clear, and not achieved as well on works like Aerosmith 'Live Bootleg' or The Kansas double live.
