Gene Rodenberry was the visionary, Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner created the characters. JJ Abrams took that vision and made it updated and beautiful. Zach Quinto and Chris Pine took their characters and respectfully brought them back to life. Yes, nothing will match the magic of the old star trek, but this movie ressurected it. Keep an open mind, please.

HEY they now have a good story and many more adventures this is better than nothing and this movie made it so i a person who never watched star trek start to watch it so yea this movie was great and it got many people who wernt in to star trek to get interested

Brilliant? Yeah, J.J. Abrams is so brilliant that he created these amazing characters like Spock and Captain Kirk and... no, what a second, that was Gene Rodenberry, and Leonard Nemoy and William Shatner. But I guess you mean brilliant, because he added alot of computer effects and pretty explosions. You must have enjoyed all of the pretty fireworks on screen!
