New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg testifies at an Education and Labor Committee hearing concerning mayor and superintendent partnerships in education on July 17, 2008.
Give a great teacher a bunch of savages, and an incompetent teacher a group of affluent, home schooled kids. Who will get the merit pay? Go ahead and guess....!
Hey Bloomberg? Why don't you stop blaming the teachers and bashing them and point the fingers at the real problem which lie within the families and parents of these students. It's much easier to place the blame on the easy soft targets that are the teachers. You have orchestrated a witchhunt to eliminate experienced teachers by giving principals control over their school budgets. You are a coldhearted egomaniac and you belong back on Wall street . You are definitely NOT mayor material!
I wish more important people in BC cared about public education as much as Mayor Bloomberg does. He truly values education unlike other politicians. This man is a strong politician that truly is working for the hard working people of the country or in his case, City of New York.
Public schools are very dangerous places. I cannot trust the teachers, principals, supervisors and the chancellor. That is why I will not send my child to a public school in NYC.
With an eraser, any teacher can change the wrong answers and bubble up the right ones and change the grades to support the statistics.
Standards and tests are great, but the secrets behind the assessment and evaluation are alarming and you will never understand.
Long live Public Schools, I will take care of my child.

Mayor Bllomberg's methods can't work. He wanted to run the schools like a business, and it doesn't work that way.
He selected a lawyer to be the school chancellor. Joel Klein had no experience/qualifications in education or child development.
