This is from Don Patterson's "Mellow Soul" album from 1967. It features Don Patterson on organ, David "Fathead" Newman on Sax, and Billy James on drums.

Little fact about "Humpa Snapa Blues" the same melody was featured on Don Patterson's first album "Goin' Down Home". The tune was called "Little Duck".

  • You should post "Music to Think by" off of the same album. Absolute party bringer.

  • @superjules I have to dig up the album in my basement.

  • Don's son Deveron is a friend of mine. You won't meet a better cat on earth. Thanks for posting some of Don's work. He and Jimmy Smith were and always will be THE B-3 cats.

  • @GTR1964 Really? Don Patterson and my father were good friends. I wish I could of met him. I have to agree with you on him and Jimmy Smith being the best on the B-3. They had that organ talking!

I also will have to add Jimmy McGriff, and Charles Earland to the list of greats.

  • Go to facebook and/or myspace and search dev patterson or deveron patterson. That is Don's son. You may know him. He's one great guy.

    Keep up the great work.
