Small bowl funnel cloud and brief tornado NE of Wagoner, OK. This is my first tornado ever, and it was pretty sweet. Unfortunately, I did not see where it touched down, but we did come across the damage it produced. As of this time, the damage has not been rated nor the tornado even recorded and added to the local storm reports despite being reported by the chaser I was with.
Forgive some of the bad shots in this video along with the poor quality of my camcorder.
A more complete video of my chase today will be posted later. I saw three tornadoes, two funnel clouds, and probably a dozen wall clouds today just from one storm.
Chasing with me is Jeff Tithemire, Robert Hettchen, and Mariah Lee.
EDIT 5/26/11: NWS Tulsa has listed it as a wind report, but multiple chasers saw the tornado's brief touchdown. Final answer: it's a tornado.
NWS Report (Wind):
2350 UNK 8 S CHOUTEAU WAGONER OK 3607 9534 LARGE TREES DOWN BLOCKING ROAD (TSA)
It takes a high-end F0/EF0 to low-end F1/EF1 to snap trees. It depends on if they're hardwood or softwood trees.
EDIT 6/15/11: Just learned today that this tornado was officially recognized by NWS Tulsa and has been for the past few weeks. It was rated an EF-1 with 105 mph winds. Path width was 300 yards and length was 3.5 miles (long in my standards).
