Call of Duty 5 - PTRS 41 vs Tank

I've never shot at a tank before, This gun was made for piercing armor. I wonder how many shots it would take to bring down a tank with no damage.

In real life, the PTRS-41 is significantly heavier than even a .50 caliber rifle, and it is impossible to fire it without it supporting it on something. Additionally, the PTRS-41 has only 40mm of armor penetration. I can't tell what tank the shooter is firing at, but it would have trouble penetrating even the rear of many WW2 tanks, much less damaging anything inside. Shooters would attempt to fire at the weak points of tanks but this was also ineffective.

So no, not at all realistic.

It's an anti-tank rifle. That doesn't mean it blows up tanks.

The point of an anti-tank rifle is to be able to punch through the armor killing the people inside.
