Thank you for the video!! I bought the key shell on ebay for less that $6.00, then had it cut for $10.00 at a local shop....$16.00 vs. $40.00 the shop was going to charge for providing the shell and switching out the parts for me. Thanks!

I used to. The swing out style keys that I have dealt with were very low quality and hard to work with. I know customers like them, so I sold them and just put up with the hassle. When keys started coming back from customers with failures in the mechanical mechanism, I stopped selling them.

The retainer is for use during key production (before the factory adds the remote and back). A small amount of putty or adhesive holds it fine while you are working on the key. The back of the key is really the retainer.
