i think what he means is you're hopping too high. you dont really have to hop that high, just shift arms fast and lift off the floor slighty to land on the other arm. i think you just need practice, that's all. for the hopping, it's kinda different from cricket hops. you do use your lower body but just to turn. the hopping is mostly done when your arms pump.
ehm, your jumping up, don't do that, you want to keep your body in a stable height, it will give you better balance

i still call them darkhammers, i think they're the same, just without rotation.
