Veterinarian Dr. Christianne Schelling and Charlie the cat show you how to apply Soft Paws nail caps (and Soft Claws nail caps, since the process is identical). Visit www.softpaws.com for more information.

  • When Soft Paws (Claws) was first developed, on (soft claws) was available to the public and the other (soft paws) was only available to vets. Now they're for everyone! If you're still interested in the caps we suggest checking with your vet or local groomer, many will apply the caps for you.

  • Did you drug your cat before applying? she looks as docile as hell

  • @arconian No. Charlie is a very loving cat and has had his paws handled since he was a kitten. Getting your cat used to regular nail trimmings is very helpful for the application of Soft Paws.

  • when do u need to take it out...or do u never need it out

  • @soaringabovetime The nail caps will fall off naturally with the shed cycle of your cats nails.

  • @Nateg1345 The adhesive included in the Soft Paws (and Soft Claws) packaging is a cool bonding non-toxic glue that is comparable to a veterinarian grade adhesive. Super glue is heat bonding and can be toxic to pets. They are not one in the same and we do not recommend anyone using super glue (or any other brand) if they happen to run out of the adhesive included in the packages.

  • Do these actually stop you cat from scratching? Don't they just scratch with these plastic tips instead, causing less (but similar) damage? Thanks

  • My cat freaks out when I even attempt to trim one nail = (

  • I really gotta get my Max reaccustomed to nail trimming. I'm a totally blind cat owner and my mom would come over once or twice a month to help me trim his nails. But se's started working again recently and so hasn't been able to do it consistently, so he's gotten rusty. In fact last time my mom tried he bit her, which is unusual for him. And she herself stopped using the softcaps after her own kittens discovered they could get them off with enough chewing.

  • @Nateg1345 People do and still do that it's called Acrylic nails.

  • my cat is a pain in the ass so I'm totally getting this for her for the sake of my poor abused furniture.

  • @arconian I'm not a vet, my cats are "mutts". I put softpaws on both my cats last night. If you get your cats used to a laid back manicure routine they really don't mind that much. My girl cat does still give me the "I know where you sleep" look Charlie was sporting, It helps to introduce them to the idea of you touching their feet during nap time, and maybe with treats if they haven't been introduced to the idea of nail clipping yet.

  • What I find funny is that Soft Paws and Soft Claws are the exact same thing sold under 2 different names. I would like to try these on my MiMi, but she is very fussy and objects in every way possible to having her claws trimmed. It is even hard when my sister is helping me. God only knows the kind of fit she would have if I tried to put these on her... :/

  • @xiSuffocate no it does not when the nails start shedding the CAP falls off NOT the nail

  • dim enough to put SUPER GLUE on there cats nails?
