Rolex 24 At Daytona 2011 A spin up head causes problems for the cars behind and the 07 car felt the worse of it, massive crash that left the 07 car with massive damage.
@TheGoaltender94 I'm actually an avid NASCAR fan. I love it. But they still don't FLOOR it. They're told to avoid wrecking equipment. ESPECIALLY their engines. Those aren't your stock engines that are 1500 dollars. The motors in a NASCAR stock car are roughly 10k a pop, give or take. I wouldn't want to blow one of those up myself.
@ArmadeusXxC You should watch some NASCAR more, they floor it out of skids all the time. By floor it out of skids I mean floor it while skidding to avoid the wall.
@burton0078 Yeah, I've never seen a driver floor it to get out of a skid. You can apply gentle power when you're moving straight to put the car into a controlled drift, but the drivers are told to save as much of the equipment as possible. Engine, tires, transmission, differential, etc.
@burton0078 You have a few facts wrong there. I compete in a road race series with cars making 250 hp and when you start to spin, your rear tires smoke, even when you are completely off the throttle. Also it is the standard to turn into the skid to correct. That Camaro was trying to get around the wreck and happened to clip the car steering into the skid. There is a phrase we have in racing - "Shit Happens"
Man that rotary sounds awesome!! Shame for the accident though.
@ 1:24 right after the replay of the accident, I wonder if it's turbo charged. Sounds like you can hear it flutter after he revs it.

When a car gets turned around in the midst of traffic there are 2 things i hate.
when they floor it [ causing smoke and other drivers cant see]
and turning the wheel thus hitting more cars.
Unless its necesary to do so....
