Obama friends I am here for you when you realize that the fix is in! Hillary will pick Richardson (latino vote) over Obama who should be at least the VP. Do not forget Jesse Jackson's Rainbow--democrats passed him up too. No more loyalty to the democrats! People its time to teach the democratic establishment a lesson. I know. I'm Mexican, but have a very southern accented uncle in San Diego, and with just a couple of years of knowing him, and when i talk to him, i kind of do go into a souther accent with some words, we all do. I learned English mostly from imitation (we all do in fact, learn languages from imitation) and accents are easy to adapt to. Plus, Obama sometimes does talk like that, weather in Hawaii, Chicago or the South.

Yeah, I'm still on the fence, but hearing his sudden change of accent in front of a different audience makes me a bit uneasy. He seems like a phony that will act however you want him to.
As for everyone saying the southern accent is contagious?!?!? I'm a yankee from Michigan and have lived in many southern states thanks to being married to the military and I have to tell you, it's not that contagious. I still don't say y'all or fixin' I never changed the way I spoke just to please anyone.
