Vocal Slender Owo Yapa NEW MUSIC VIDEO

I discovered Vocal Slender while watching the excellent BBC program titled Welcome to Lagos Part 1″. An amazing programme which showcased the plight of everyday Lagosians trying to make a living. In Vocal Slenders case, he makes his living primarily as a scavenger and the proceeds are used to further his dream to become an accomplished and successful music artiste. Vocal Slender born Eric Obuh from Ajegunle, was shown working on his Owo Yapa during the documentary. His style is similar to that of most artistes from Ajegunle like Showkey, Baba Fryo, Daddy Fresh, African Chine, Danfo Drivers etc. Rhythmic vocals infused with party and socially conscious lyrics laid on reggae beats served up with that nice Ajegunle flavour. I bought his debut album and listened to it before I started writing this piece and was pleasantly surprised. This dude is inspirational to anyone struggling to get a leg up in life. I just watched the documentary "welcome to Lagos" and seen what he does for living outside music. He doesn't bitch and moan like many I see around me, he just gets on trying to climb up the ladder the right way. It may not be glamorous or quick, but its honourable. I hope this brotha gets far in life, he deserves it.
