Dr. Siegfried Othmer discusses the results of pre post SPECT imagery after Neurofeedback. The work with veterans is being done in connection with the non-profit homecoming4vets.org. The Neurofeedback was donated by the EEG Institute, and the SPECT scans were donated by Dr. Daniel Amen's office.

  • Pure SPECTulation --so the treatment will one day be lobotomy or drugs of ablation for PTSD?

  • The therapy referred to here is Neurofeedback - this is a form of biofeedback that is non-invasive. No drug, no surgery, no lobotomy, just biofeedback, and the results are better than anything else I've seen.

  • Great Job Our Orlando Facility is doing advanced testing ... go to ejuven8 on utube and see the video on our program

  • I have a bridge here in Brooklyn that is going at a sale price

  • @DOCPTSD Catharsis is absolutely not needed. All that is needed is for the neurological system, which more than just the brain, to learn a new way to experience the memory of the event. You might call that catharsis but it does not need to be so dramatic. You can pop a balloon to let the air out or you can let it drain out slowly. The problem with PTSD is a feedback loop is trapping the memory. Interrupt the loop and "the pressure" naturally releases.

  • @othmerk EFT can work faster, NLP can also work faster but can also add positive reactions. All three work on a similar principle. Cause the brain to process the emotional memory differently so it stops being "stuck".

The great thing about EEG feedback is the results can be objectively measured. This is very helpful when people have many cross linked triggers that set out one loop after another. Allowing the person to see there brain working lets them change how it works thus heal.

  • Great vid.

Great to see the proof of the neurofeedback calming the over arroused brain.

  • Neurofeedback is an amazing intervention for PTSD. I've almost almost miraculous results in a relatively short period of time with some very challenging PTSD clients who had not been successful with other forms of treatment.

  • Your understanding of the nature of PTSD is totally absent. It cannot be reduced to brain waves and suspected locations in the brain that light up in color. It is a clinical dynamic of NORMAL responses that need to be such or you were not there when the trauma went down. Catharsis and abreactive response is the only treatment that works. Sorry, I did not know at the time of doing the original work in 1968, Vietnam, that it would become a business. My video of 1984 PTSD became basis of the book
