…J'ai bien vu la bete avec sa queue et sa grosse tete !

@lasaintebarbe: It's La GrandBete, a Gilles Chabenat tune.

Very cool and inventive Neil! What is that song your are playing in the video?

I'm with Mush01, in that experimentation with visual design seems to be in short supply among gurdy luthiers. You seem to have a knack for being able to build excellent playing instruments in a variety of designs efficiently, and that is something that has eluded a lot of builders. Plus you manage to indulge your creativity. Great stuff!

Please don't sell it before I get a chance to try it! Rory.

@neilbrook Okay, makes sense. It's a bit like those foldey-up guitars — I wouldn't buy one, but it's good that it exists (and I would probably have a good crack at building one, but I have my own Gurdy gimmick planned)
Any chance of a Banjo Gurdy?

@joelstewart Way too scratchy I'd have thought but feel free to make one yourself ;-)

Nice — And what about the price? Less time consuming than bending a load of ribs surely, but what about carving the neck?

@WaterpigMaster It took about the same time as a wren to build . The neck is a separate piece glued under the keybox - peghed geared tuners add a bit so £1150 sounds right. I have no plans to make more than one more ( I've still got the other half of the gourd!) I just needed to see if it could be done.
