  • If you block that s not aikido. There s no block in aikido. This is usually taught on lesson 1 and is one of the reasons why anybody joins this martial art: it s for the fact that it does not contain blocks.

  • @raitaleo Technically you're right. The block should be applied before the strike starts swinging down. After that point, a different technique should be used to remain "aiki".

  • FAKE BULSHIT.

  • Gokyo omote und Ura ! Attack : Gyakute yokomen uchi . Very nice to see the doshu in aktion.

  • It s neither simple, nor wonderful, it s not even aikido as it was theoretically, at least, conceived, even if it s Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba demonstrating. In aikido there is no opposition, and in the first technique he executes a firm block. Even in karate they do better and softer blocks.

  • just simple and wonderful . But I don't know any of this tech , I never learned .

  • Nice video mate. This really shows how aikido can be used for self defence in dangerous situations. though I think the 2nd technique is the better of the 2 as you would have a much greater chance of taking an attacker of balance.
