That Giants defense destroyed quarterbacks...they ended or dramatically shortened the careers of these QBs:
Theismann (LT ankle break)
Jaworski (his last game NYG-PHI, he was benched for Cunningham)
Danny White (Banks broke his wrist)
Neil Lomax definitely got his career shortened
Montana was never the same after Marshall hit him
Jay Schroeder was never the same after the 1986 NFCCG
I know Elway, Marino and Kelly were glad they didn't have to play in the NFC East

These comments are a riot. I guess if I were a Bears fan, and if I had nothing to cling to except one lonely championship 24 years ago, and no future to look forward to, I'd probably spend my time trolling for videos that the Bears aren't even in. Gee, Bears fan, if the 1986 Bears were so fucking good, why couldn't they beat the Redskins? You know, the Redskins who were beaten three times by the Giants.

Not many teams beat The Niners in the 80's, but The Giants beat them in 1985,1986, and 1990 in the postseason. The Niners also beat us in 1981 and 1984. Seemed like whoever won this matchup, in the postseason, went on to win The Super Bowl.
For two teams, that weren't division foes, Niners/Giants was a GREAT rivalry!

Fuck of Cowboys fan. I see you dumbass comments on page, after page, of Giants, and Redskin videos. You don't know shit about football.
You're the same person would said The Vikings would've won in 1975 if Kapp wasn't their QB, LOOOOOOOOL! You comments hold no weight or substance. Get a life heffer!

As a recent newcomer to the states,I have realised that American football reminds me of rugby, only without the helmets.

Oh really dipshit? The 91 Skins? You mean the same squad the Giants beat year in, year out? Or teams from 2 decades earlier who were physically out matched? Drop the crack pipe.

right, only the 89 niners, 85 bears, 72 dolphins, 84 niners, 93 cowboys, 94 niners, 75 steelers, 91 redskins, 94 cowboys, 73 dolphins, 69 chiefs, 61 packers, 62 packers, 71 cowboys, 78 steelers, 76 raiders, 74 steelers, and 83 raiders would be ableto beat them....i agree

its seams that we have always had the 49ers number except we lost that 2003 wildcard game which should not have ended that way, it should have ended on a pass interference call, but all well it ends well, we probably could have beaten the Bucs if that call would have been & the giants would have played the Eagles for the title game and possibly would have played the Riaders in the SB, but would have probably lost or won but it would have been a great SB

This playoff loss in 1985 by the 49ers was the start of 3 straight years in which they were one & done in the playoffs. They were routed 49-3 by the Giants in 1986 & were upset at home by the Minnesota Vikings in 1987 the year they finished with the NFL's best record (13-2) & in that game Bill Walsh pulled Joe Montana from the game for Steve Young & that's where the Montana-Young QB controversey began.
