This is an ambient cover by Japancakes of My Bloody Valentine's Only Shallow off the Loveless album. It's not better than the original (on my favorites if you want to check it out) but I wouldn't compare the two anyway. This is something completely different.

"Drugged power" is a good way of putting it. The original Loveless is like an enormous, incomprehensible psychedelic beast, whispering the secrets of the cosmos into your ear as the world around you is shredded and consumed by a boundless pink aether.

This cover is more like going for a pony ride on a sunny day. Pleasant but of an entirely different category.
