  • no, it's more expensive and it's more realistic ;)

It has been developped for the Army

  • just get ArmA with the proper realism mods, for sound and ballistics etc.

  • @sirjefferson9001 It's been 9 months since that post, I've known that information for a long time after I got curious about it, but thanks anyway for your input, no matter how helpful it actually was.

  • @TheBackfiringVirus ArmA 2 is not more realistic, except graphics, and ACE2 does not make it way more realistic, it just removes the unrealistic interface and adds a few features (and e.g. the ridiculously intense exhaustion-from-running-feature is included in VBS2 right away)

also VBS2 is moddable as well, and lite version is free

it also has a few more features, you can e.g. display grenade trajectory, have a health bar, can move aim/crosshair independent from sight, and select seats

  • @DWSimmy the free US Army and British Army (JCOVE) Lite editions feature e.g. the As Samawah map, which features multiple large cities, As Samawah itself (at least partially built like the real As Samawah in iraq)) is about 3x3 km and every building enterable on all levels it has (you can open every door, fight across roofs etc.), and as far as i currently remember at least two more maps (one grassland town map, and one desert mountain map (both smaller))

  • @sirjefferson9001 Wait, it comes with maps pre loaded? So I won't have to download them from a 3rd party? Sorry about responding to such an old comment

  • @brandonS911 Its actually not less a game than Arma2 - actually, it's even a little more game-like (it has e.g. a health bar). Compared to Arma2, it has:

    - worse graphics

    - better weapon physics

    - far better included maps (actually large cities (>2x2km), and with all enterable buildings!!)

    - better interface (more information, and looks better)

    - in full version: a leet 3d editor, military-style debriefing and performance analysis (for training)

and just like arma2 can edit/mod and add anything

  • Why not get ArmA 2 with the ACE2 mods?More realism for half the price......
