Kepala Balai Arkeologi Denpasar, I Wayan Suantika, mengaku belum menerima laporan soal penemuan candi bawah laut di Selat Bali.
Head of Archaeology Denpasar, I Wayan Suantika, claimed to have not received reports about the discovery of the underwater temple in Bali Strait. "Absolutely there has been no report about the findings," said Suantika in Denpasar today.
However, Suantika somewhat dubious findings were released at several Internet sites. Because, according to him, somewhat unlikely form of the temple can be complete if it is under the sea for years. "If the temples are made of brick or stone, it was impossible to form a whole like that," said temple Suantika when viewing photos posted on social networking Twitter.
Suantika states, chances are the findings of other temples in Bali Strait region, particularly in Gilimanuk remain. "Because there are archaeologists who found the strangling of the temple in the region, Gilimanuk. However, the temple was included younger age ie 17-18 century, "he said.
Suantika suspect, if it is true there is a temple that was found in the Strait of Bali, the possibility that temple fell into the sea due to erosion or other natural factors. However, Suantika promised to follow up these findings.
If this finding is true, Denpasar Archaeology Institute will determine whether the findings were indeed located on the territory of Bali. "Because, if Java is closer to the mainland, it has become the authority of Yogyakarta Archaeological Center or even Under Water Directorate investigated the Department of Culture and Tourism," Suantika explained.
Previously, the social networking site commotion with the issue of findings under the sea temple in Bali Strait. Under Water Directorate will immediately investigate these findings.
