You may or not may consider Aled's mature voice be as stunning as his treble voice, but many love it as much. And as for the duets with his younger self, for many these are unique, very special, and we want more please, Aled (if you ever read these comments!)

@boltonwandererskings You are right, my opinions are irrelevant and worthless to everybody other than me. That was my point and that is why I seldom share them in general public forums. I wish you well and hope you too have a good Christmas.

@ThePANDA1885 thank you so much for sharing your opinion with me. MY OPINION is just as valid as yours so either mine is NOT worthless or your is worthless too. I live my life standing outside the rest of normal society as I am autistic so one more occasion when I AM RIGHT does not bother me one iota. Merry Christmas and thank you again for sharing your opinion

@boltonwandererskings You write this same comment on every rendition of this hymn which uses the Repton tune. It is merely your opinion that it is a dirge and your opinion is irrelevant and worthless to those who enjoy this version. By writing in this way you come across as a pompous know-it-all - which I'm sure you're not in reality but you're not doing yourself any favours.

This is a dirge but there is a better tune (Rest)

Thanks again for all the info :-).

Truly beautiful. One of my all time favourite hymns.

Does any know where I could find a printed version (with the Flute solos)?

@mgohler I believe this was a special arrangement by Robert Prizeman of Libera fame, so sheet music may not be available Im afraid. There is a music book called "You Raise Me Up - The Best Of Aled Jones", I suppose it is possible that a copy could be in there, unfortunately I dont know the contents of the book..

That gave me shivers. It's been my favourite hymn since the FIRST time I heard it sung solo, (rather than en masse and too fast!) and I've told my husband I want it sung by a soloist at my funeral. This version is gorgeous.
