@CascadianPatriot It might be true but i don't think it is as this was filmed in 2008 and conservative didn't go into goverment until 2010 it must be something to do with the North West

I've heard that the BBC changes studio and theme colors with the current government (so during a Labour govt, the BBC uses red, and during a Conservative govt, the BBC uses blue) as a weird tradition, but I can't verify this.

I like how they've still kept the images from the previous set of titles, but I'm sorry I prefer the last look, this feels like a step back in time.
