If you want an option to share files with no limits to file sizes and with maximum speed, I really suggest you try out Dropbox.
It's an excellent tool if you want to share files with other people. It's FREE, it runs in Windows, Mac OS X and Linux and you choose to share a folder with other people, you don't even have to be online at the same time with them. They only need to have Dropbox as well (installed and running), and you're good to go.
And if don't have a pen/flash drive at hand, you can upload files anywhere by using the Web Interface. Needless to say, you can also access those files anywhere by the same means.
To register and start using Dropbox, just head out to www.getdropbox.com/
Don't forget! In the FREE option you'll have a 2Gb online hosting space which you CAN EXPAND by inviting friends to use Dropbox. You'll get 256Mb for each friend and you "box" can grow up to 5Gb :)
Sorry it took me this long to answer, but I've been studying a lot for my final exams...
Well if you use the application, you won't have a file size limit, but if you use the web interface, the cap will be 350Mb.
As for speed, it's very fast, I do believe it runs at the maximum speed as one's Internet connection.
I downloaded 161Mb right now it took me around 6 minutes (I have a 6Mb connection), but I never really tested for accurate time
