First trail run after build-up of my jeep with a Cummins 4BT engine. This was at Moab this year at the Easter Jeep Safari. Not a very good video, but somebody wanted to see it actually move. First jeep (white) is a stock wheelbase, whereas mine is stretched to 105"(12" stretch). Second part shows me killing it trying out different gears on the climb.

  • I bought a tubing bender and made the fenders,roll cage,etc.

  • I bought the whole donor truck complete. After I parted out the donor truck, I ended up getting the engine for free. I changed a lot on the whole jeep, so it would be hard for me to say how hard the swap would be in a stock jeep.

  • It's 4.56:1

  • It sounds a lot louder on the video than it is inside the jeep. With the roof off, it's not that bad. I've heard a lot of dirt bikes on the trail that are louder, but probably not too bad for the rider.

  • Mileage has been anywhere from 20-23 mpg. I checked the last tank, and it was 21 mpg (combined city/highway).

  • The whole build thread is located @ Pirate4x4 in the Jeep-hardcore tech section. Look for "Project: Eat Me"
