13 year old, Andrew has learned to communicate by pointing to a stencilboard made by his grandfather. He has been communicating this way now for over 4 years, slowly becoming more and more accurate. In this video, Andrew explains the difference communication has made in his life. He is currently mainstreamed in 8th grade classes, and is a member of the National Junior Honors Society.

  • Andrew, you definitely found the winning lottery ticket by using the letter board! You have achieved so much in your short 13 years and are already a productive citizen :) Can't wait to see what you do next!!! Keep up the good work!

  • Hey Andrew,

It's Maggie, I think your video is really cool! It's so cool that you are able to type so many big words. I think the letter board idea was a really good idea. Tell your sis I said hi.

  • This (Part II) is even better! Andrew, you are amazing!

  • Andrew,

This was a great video. Not only did I learn more about you and how you feel but you helped me to understand more about the autistic community. You are a wonderful representative and I feel great things are to come from your powerful words and thoughts. Your mom also does a great job too, don't you think? mrs. Emily
